ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed Israeli attacks against the Palestinians during a phone conversation, Turkey's presidential office said in a statement Wednesday.

Erdogan said the international community should teach Israel a "strong and deterrent" lesson to stop its "reckless attacks" on Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Palestinians.

NEW DELHI -- India's federal government has asked states to check the practice of dumping bodies of COVID-19 victims into the river Ganga, as the country struggles in a devastating second wave of infections.

"We have taken serious note of the issue of dumping dead bodies in River Ganga and instituted measures for the prohibition," India's federal minister of Jal Shakti (water resources), Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said.

TRIPOLI -- Libya and Malta have agreed to hold an economic forum between the chambers of commerce and businessmen councils in the two countries "to enhance and support bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade," the Libyan Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
