HONG KONG, May 14 (Xinhua) -- 2021 UCI Track Cycling of Hong Kong entered the second day of the tournament on Friday, as star rider Sarah Lee Wai-sze from Hong Kong, China, was dominant in the women's sprint.

Sarah Lee, the 2012 London Olympics bronze medalist first clocked a time of 10.664 seconds in the qualifying 200m t.t. to rank first and advanced to the quarterfinals directly.

After rounds of qualifications, Sarah Lee knocked out Japan's Yuka Kobayashi 2-0 in the final to win her first gold medal in 2021.

In men's kilometer t.t., rookie rider To Cheuk-hei from Hong Kong, China recorded a time of one minute 04.050 seconds in qualifying to rank 8th among 14 riders, just good enough to earn a spot in the final. To then clocked a time of 1:04.160 in the final to rank 8th, while German Felix Gross won the gold.

Also on Friday, former world record holder, Ashton Lambie from the United States, remained undefeated as he stormed to the men's individual pursuit gold, while Eiya Hashimoto and Yumi Kajihara from Japan crowned champions in men's and women's elimination races respectively. Enditem
