WASHINGTON -- U.S. retail sales were unchanged in April, after surging by an upwardly revised 10.7 percent in March, the U.S. Commerce Department said Friday in a report.
Retail sales totaled 619.9 billion U.S. dollars in April, "virtually unchanged" from the previous month, which registered 619.8 billion dollars, according to the report. (U.S.-Retail-Data)

ATHENS -- The global economic outlook has improved in recent months, but uncertainty remains very high, Angel Gurria, secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), told a forum here on Friday.

LISBON -- The European Union (EU) has already had the right conditions for a "safe reopening" of tourism in summer, European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton said on Friday.

LONDON -- Britain and Ireland on Friday agreed to work together to "maintain smooth trade" between Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland after Brexit.
