KABUL, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Public Health Ministry reported 221 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, raising the total nationwide infections to 63,819, including over 6,000 active cases.
The pandemic has so far claimed 2,751 lives in Afghanistan since February last year, including six deaths in the past 24 hours, the ministry said in a statement.
Up to 323 patients recovered during the cited period.
According to the ministry, more than 432,000 tests for the virus have been carried out in Afghanistan as of Monday. Enditem
