BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced on Thursday that the temporary suspension of cross-border activities between Brunei and Malaysia will be extended for another two weeks from May 22 to June 4, 2021.

The temporary suspension on entry of foreign nationals via land and sea ports, including transits through Brunei, is extended by 14 more days until June 4, except for entry and transit travels that have been granted approval by the government.

Brunei shares land and sea borders with east Malaysia.

Temporary suspension on the collection and delivery of private goods and temporary suspension on commuters via land and sea for work are also extended by 14 days until June 4.

According to the PMO, the conditions for the consideration of entry and exit travel mentioned above are subject to review by the Cross-Border Affairs Steering Committee from time to time.

Meanwhile, Brunei temporarily suspended the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) Arrangement with Singapore effective from Thursday, 7 p.m. local time until further notice.

According to a PMO press release, the country made the decision as it continues to review the risk assessment of all countries, areas and regions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brunei reported no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, maintaining the national tally at 235.

The country reported one more recovery on Thursday, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 223. Since May 6, 2020, Brunei has recorded 379 days without local COVID-19 infection cases, with only nine active patients being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Center, who are all in a stable condition.

There have been three deaths reported from COVID-19 so far in Brunei. Enditem
