MEXICO CITY, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Cruz Azul secured a berth in the Liga MX Clausura final on Saturday with 1-0 home win over Pachuca in the second leg of their semifinal.
Argentine-born striker Santiago Gimenez broke the deadlock in the 51st minute with a glancing header after Luis Romo's perfectly weighted cross.
Pachuca were forced to play the last three minutes with 10 men after Gustavo Cabral was shown a straight red card for violently bringing down Uruguayan forward Jonathan Rodriguez.
The result at the Azteca stadium gave Cruz Azul a 1-0 win on aggregate after the teams drew 0-0 in the first leg.
Puebla will host Santos Laguna in the return clash of the other semifinal on Sunday. The latter won the first leg 3-0. Enditem
