Tunisia reports 1,422 new COVID-19 cases, 343,374 in total

TUNIS, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Health Ministry on Saturday reported 1,422 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the country to 343,374.

The death toll from the virus rose by 61 to 12,574 in Tunisia, and the total number of recoveries reached 301,273, the ministry said in a statement.

A total of 1,466,886 lab tests have been carried out in the country so far, it added.

The ministry also announced the detection of three new infections by the strain of COVID-19 first reported in South Africa, adding that all these cases came from abroad. Enditem
