JAKARTA, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's anti-terror squad Densus 88 has arrested 10 terrorist suspects believed to be members of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah group, who planned to bomb a church and two police stations in Merauke, Papua province.

"They originate from Java island and Sulawesi island who have lived in Merauke district for a long time," the National Police's spokesman Inspector General Argo Yuwono said on Monday.

They have pledged allegiance to the terror group ISIS and discussed their plans of bombing actions by social media WhatsApp and Telegram groups, Yuwono added.

Densus 88 seized evidence such as air rifles, arrows, sharp weapons, and several chemicals. An investigation on the case is underway.

Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) is a terrorist organization affiliated to ISIS, or the Islamic State group, which tries to establish a new state in the Middle East. Enditem
