RIO DE JANEIRO, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Fortaleza continued their impressive start to the Brazilian Serie A season on Sunday with a 5-1 home victory over Internacional.
Cristian Tarouco and Robson Fernandes netted first-half goals before Yago Pikachu, Ze Gabriel, and Wellington Paulista added three more after the break.
The visitors ended the match with just nine men after Pedro Santana and Vitor Mendonca were shown red cards in the 45th and 90th minutes, respectively.
Fortaleza now have two wins from as many matches under Argentine coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, who took charge of the club in March. Internacional, meanwhile, have just one point so far.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Corinthians secured their first win of the campaign, beating America Mineiro 1-0 courtesy of a Fabio Romeu penalty.
In Rio de Janeiro, Gabriel Teixeira struck in the 40th minute to hand Fluminense a 1-0 win over Cuiaba. Enditem
