SINGAPORE, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the visiting Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison agreed here Thursday to explore bilateral cooperation in the fields of Fintech, low-emissions and green economy.

Building on a bilateral Digital Economy Agreement which came into force last year, the two sides agreed to commence discussions to develop a Fintech bridge between them, Lee said at a joint press conference after their meeting.

Morrison pointed out that Singapore is one of the leading economies in the world in terms of Fintech, and such cooperation would be beneficial for both countries.

In science and innovation, the two countries are working on collaborations on low-emissions solutions to support their climate change efforts, Lee added, noting that it includes a public-private partnership on low emissions fuels and technologies for shipping and port operations.

Singapore and Australia are also exploring a broader partnership on a green economy agreement, which will facilitate trade and investment in environmentally sustainable goods and services, and strengthen environmental governance and the two countries' capacity to address climate change. Enditem
