Argentina reports 27,628 new COVID-19 cases

BUENOS AIRES, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Argentina reported 27,628 new COVID-19 infections and 669 more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the accumulated total to 4,066,156 cases and 83,941 deaths on Thursday.

In its daily report, the country's health ministry also reported that 3,639,402 people have recovered from the disease, while 342,813 remain in the active stage.

Meanwhile, 15,353,408 vaccine doses against COVID-19 have been administered in the South American country to date.

Of this total, 3,150,527 people have received two doses of vaccines, while 12,202,881 have received their first dose, according to the public vaccination monitor.

Health Minister Carla Vizzotti said in a statement that the "impact of the vaccine is being seen in the decline in mortality and a decrease in mortality in the proportion of people over 60 years old."

Argentina will maintain social distancing and preventive measures until June 11, with the aim of bringing the pandemic under control. Enditem
