Afghanistan reports 1,804 new COVID-19 cases, 71 deaths

KABUL, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan on Monday recorded 1,804 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases after health authorities conducted 5,070 tests within a day, bringing the number of total cases to 93,272, the country's Ministry of Public Health said.

Meanwhile, 296 people recovered during the past 24 hours. A total of 71 deaths were also reported, totaling the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 3,683, the ministry said.

To combat COVID-19, the ministry has repeatedly urged the Afghan people to wear a face mask in crowded places, practice physical distancing and keep personal hygiene. Enditem
