OTTAWA -- Canada's Vice-Chief of Defence Staff Lt.-Gen. Mike Rouleau announced his resignation on Monday following media-reported playing golf with former Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Jonathan Vance, who is under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct.

"As a result of this incident, I am stepping aside immediately as [vice-chief of the defence staff] and will transition to the CAF Transition Group. Major-General Frawley will serve as [acting vice-chief of the defence staff] until Lieutenant-General Allen assumes command. ABUJA -- Nigerian police on Monday confirmed 10 people were killed at a local bar attacked by gunmen in the country's central state of Plateau.

The incident took place on Sunday night when the unknown gunmen in a van stormed the bar in a village of Jos South local government area of the state, shooting indiscriminately at the patrons, said Ubah Ogaba, a spokesperson for the police in Plateau. (Nigeria-Gunmen)

TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Monday that more than 2,000 illegal migrants were rescued off the Libyan coast and returned to Libya in the past week.
