BERLIN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- German stocks recorded small gains at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index growing by 71.16 points, or 0.45 percent, opening at 15,744.8 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies was aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines, increasing by 2.50 percent, followed by industrial gas producer Linde with 1.41 percent and pharmaceutical giant Bayer with 1.01 percent.
On Tuesday, private bank Berenberg raised its price target for MTU from 205 to 225 euros, but left the rating at "hold." Shares of the German aircraft engine manufacturer were trading at around 214 euros at the start of trading on Tuesday.
Shares of BMW fell by 0.46 percent. The German carmaker was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Tuesday.
Germany's inflation rate, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index, stood at plus 2.5 percent in May, the highest level since September 2011, the country's Federal Statistical Office announced on Tuesday.
The yield on German ten-year bonds grew 0.0095 percentage points to minus 0.2630 percent and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.2120 U.S. dollars, decreasing by 0.01 percent on Tuesday morning. Enditem
