JAKARTA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian National Police said Friday that its counterterrorism squad has arrested a suspected terrorist, who is believed to be a member of the outlawed Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), in North Sumatra province.

The National Police's spokesperson Senior Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan said this suspect under the name of BA was one of the participants of the JI shooting training in 2015.

A further investigation is still underway.

This week, the counterterrorism squad, known as Densus 88, also detained three suspected terrorists who are members of another banned organization Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in the capital Jakarta and Bangka Belitung Islands. Enditem
