FRANKFURT, July 8 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 272.07 points, or 1.73 percent, to close at 15,420.64 points.
All DAX 30 shares lost in the day. Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.12 percent, followed by reinsurance company Munich Re and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, both of which fell 2.82 percent.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 379.53 million euros (449.29 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 1.49 percent to close at 1.537 euros per share. Enditem
