FRANKFURT, July 16 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 89.35 points, or 0.57 percent, to close at 15,540.31 points.
Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.80 percent, followed by Deutsche Bank and automotive manufacturer BMW, which lost 2.06 percent and 2.04 percent respectively.
Housing association Vonovia, energy group E.ON and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero were the top three winners, rising 1.21 percent, 1.17 percent and 0.84 percent respectively.
Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 241.62 million euros (285.16 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 0.49 percent to close at 1.730 euros per share on Friday. Enditem
