German shares gain 0.55 pct

FRANKFURT, July 20 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 83.07 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 15,216.27 points.

Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.14 percent. Multinational chemical firm Linde and Deutsche Bank added 1.93 percent and 1.92 percent, respectively.

Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical, energy group RWE and multinational software corporation SAP were the top three losers among the blue chips, falling 1.43 percent, 1.41 percent and 1.04 percent, respectively.

SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 284.08 million euros (334.50 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose by 2.67 percent to close at 1.747 euros per share on Tuesday. Enditem
