BRATISLAVA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Serbian team FK Partizan defeated Slovak team Dunajska Streda 1-0 in their first leg clash of the second qualifying round of the UEFA European Conference League on Thursday.

Thanks to placing second in their respective leagues in the previous season, both the Serbian team and the Slovak team skipped the first qualifying round and advanced to the second round automatically.

Home team FK Partizan produced several scoring chances early on, but Dunajska Streda goalie Martin Jedlicka held strong. In the 19th minute, Partizan's midfielder Lazar Markovic became the hero of the day by scoring the only goal of the match.

The second half also saw Dunajska Streda's goal in great peril but Serbia goalkeeper Jedlicka did not allow any more shots past him.

The second-leg duel between FK Partizan and Dunajska Streda is scheduled on July 29. Enditem
