JAKARTA -- Indonesia's economic liquidity or money supply in a broad sense (M2) in June 2021 was recorded at 7,119.6 trillion rupiahs (some 491.4 billion U.S. dollars) or grew by 11.4 percent year-on-year (yoy), an increase compared to the previous month's growth of 8.1 percent (yoy), according to the central bank on Friday.

The increase was mainly driven by the acceleration of the narrow money supply (M1) and quasi money components, Head of the Communication Department of central bank Bank Indonesia Erwin Haryono said, adding that the M1 component in June 2021 grew by 17.0 percent (yoy), higher than the 12.6 percent (yoy) growth in May 2021.
