ANKARA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A migrant boat carrying 45 people has sunk in south of Turkey, the country's Defense Ministry said on Friday, noting that two Turkish naval ships and an aircraft have launched search and rescue operations.
The ministry said that it had received a tip-off on Thursday evening that a boat was "about to sink" 161 miles southwest of Kas town in southern Antalya province.
The rescue operation continues despite bad weather conditions, said the ministry. Enditem
