FRANKFURT, July 23 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 154.75 points, or 1.00 percent, to close at 15,669.29 points.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 5.45 percent. Automotive supplier Continental and pharmaceutical company Merck gained 3.07 percent and 2.29 percent respectively.
Housing association Vonovia, energy division of Siemens Group Siemens Energy and multinational software corporation SAP were the top three losers among the blue chips, falling by 2.73 percent, 1.56 percent and 1.01 percent respectively.
Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 349.82 million euros (411.63 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 0.67 percent to close at 1.745 euros per share on Friday. Enditem
