LONDON, July 26 (Xinhua) -- English Premier League side Tottenham and La Liga outfit Sevilla have confirmed a deal that sees Sevilla's Spain international winger, Bryan Gil move to north London, with Argentinean Erik Lamela moving in the other direction.

Tottenham will also pay Sevilla 21.6 million pounds (almost 30 million dollars) as part of the deal for the 20-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract.

Although he wasn't included in the Spain squad for the recent European Championships, Gil has played for the senior team three times already and is currently in Tokyo with the Spanish squad competing in the Olympic Games.

A product of the Sevilla youth system, Gil has made 21 appearances for the club that finished fourth in La Liga last season, he spent last season on loan with Eibar, making 29 appearances and scoring four goals in a difficult season for the Basque side, which suffered relegation at the end of the season.

The youngster was also loaned to Leganes for the second half of the 2019-2020 campaign, making 12 appearances as the Madrid based side also went down to the Spanish second division.

29-year-old Lamela leaves Tottenham for the south of Spain after making 257 appearances and netting 37 goals after joining from Roma in what was then a club record 30 million pounds in 2013 to help cover for the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

His time at White Hart Lane was complicated by injuries, but last season saw him win the Premier League goal of the season award for his spectacular 'rabona' against local rivals Arsenal. Enditem
