AMMAN -- The UNESCO World Heritage Committee voted on Tuesday to inscribe the city of As-Salt located in the northwest of Jordan on the World Heritage Site List, state-run Petra news agency reported.

As-Salt, "the Place of Tolerance and Urban hospitality," became the sixth Jordanian landmark to be declared a World Heritage Site, Petra said. (Jordan-UNESCO-As-Salt)

CAIRO -- Egypt received on Tuesday Dredger Hussein Tantawi, the biggest and most modern dredger in the Middle East, said the head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA).

"Coming from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the cutter dredger arrived at the Suez Canal to maintain and improve work of the artificial waterway," said Osama Rabie. (Egypt-Suez-Dredger)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian health ministry reported on Tuesday 34,951 new COVID-19 cases, raising the country's total infections to 3,758,197.

The pandemic has so far claimed 89,479 lives in Iran, up by 357 in the past 24 hours, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said in a brief statement published on the ministry's official website. (Iran-COVID19-Case)

TUNIS -- A total of 1,081,214 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Tunisia, the health ministry said Tuesday.
