TOKYO, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Jiri Liptak had to endure seven nail-biting shootoff rounds against compatriot David Kostelecky to win Czech Republic's first gold at the Tokyo Olympics here on Thursday.
Both with 43 hits, Liptak and Kosteleck made each of their shots in the shootoff that seemed to be going forever until the 2008 Olympic champion Kostelecky missed his seventh attempt after 39-year-old Liptak found the target.
Britain's world and European champion Matthew John Coward-Holley took a bronze.
China's Yu Haicheng finished fifth in his Olympic debut. Enditem
