Singapore reports 139 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 139 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total tally in the country to 64,861.

The new infections included 131 locally transmitted cases, of which 28 were linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster and one belonged to the KTV cluster.

Of the new local cases, 64 were linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine, 15 were linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance, and 52 were currently unlinked.

There were eight more imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

A total of 571 cases are currently warded in the hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 26 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and seven in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

As of July 29, Singapore has administered a total of 7,429,918 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination program, covering 4,290,278 individuals. As many as 3,261,603 individuals have completed the full vaccination regimen. Enditem
