Trinidad and Tobago athletes, coach test positive for COVID-19 at Tokyo Olympics

TOKYO, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Two track and field athletes and a coach from Trinidad and Tobago have been forced out of the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19 in the Olympic Village, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee announced on Friday.

The two athletes, long jumper Andwuelle Wright and 400m hurdler Sparkle Ann McKnight, along with coach Wendell Williams, are now transferred and isolated in a hotel in Tokyo after the positive results.

Trinidad and Tobago has not won a medal yet at the Tokyo Olympics. Enditem
