LONDON, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.05 percent, or 3.43 points, to close at 7,120.43 points.
Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British-based engineering company, soared 5.87 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Whitbread and International Consolidated Airlines Group increased by 4.66 percent and 4.35 percent, respectively.
