BERLIN, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- German shares were almost unchanged at the start of trading on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index growing 13.25 points, or 0.08 percent, opening at 15,935.2 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies was plastic specialist Covestro, increasing by 1.24 percent, followed by housing company Vonovia with 1.14 percent and online food delivery company Delivery Hero with 1.00 percent.
Shares of Daimler fell by 1.13 percent. The German carmaker was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Wednesday.
The stock of orders in Germany's manufacturing sector in June grew by 2.8 percent on the previous month. Unfilled orders have now lasted for seven months, the highest level since the introduction of the statistics in 2015, the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announced on Wednesday.
The yield on German ten-year bonds declined 0.0145 percentage point to minus 0.4805 percent and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.1712 U.S. dollars, increasing by 0.01 percent on Wednesday morning. Enditem
