CAIRO -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday urged for dialogue to end the diplomatic rift between Algeria and Morocco.

Shoukry made the remarks during two separate phone conversations with his Algerian and Moroccan counterparts Ramtane Lamamra and Nasser Bourita, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. (Egypt-Algeria-Morocco-rift)

LAGOS -- Nigerian police on Saturday confirmed that another 32 students kidnapped by gunmen from a secondary school in the country's northwestern state of Kaduna has regained freedom.

The students of Bethel Baptist High School were freed on Friday, about a week after 15 kidnapped students of the school were freed on August 21, said Mohammed Jalige, a spokesman for the Kaduna police, in a telephone interview with Xinhua on Saturday. (Nigeria-students-kidnap)

KABUL -- The Taliban has called upon Kabul residents to hand over government vehicles, arms and ammunition if those assets have been left with them, according to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

ATHENS -- A cargo vessel sank in the Aegean Sea after crashing onto a rocky islet on Saturday and all crew members were rescued, Greece's Coast Guard said.

The vessel "Sea Bird" was sailing under Togo's flag from Ukraine to Tunisia when the incident happened off the shores of the eastern Peloponnese peninsula, according to an e-mailed press announcement. (Greece-Accident) Enditem
