Tunisia reports 3,524 new COVID-19 cases, 658,322 in total

TUNIS, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Ministry of Health reported on Saturday 3,524 new COVID-19 cases, raising the tally in the North African country to 658,322.

The death toll from the virus rose by 19 to 23,182 in Tunisia, while the total number of recoveries reached 607,318, the ministry said in a statement.

The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Tunisia reached 2,742, including 522 in intensive care units, it added.

A total of 2,559,309 lab tests have been carried out in Tunisia so far, according to the ministry.

Since the start of the national vaccination campaign on March 13, a total of 2,093,949 Tunisians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Enditem
