JERUSALEM -- Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will fly to Moscow for an official trip to meet his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Lapid, who is also Israel's alternate prime minister, will depart on Wednesday for a one-day visit to Russia and will "hold a working meeting" with Lavrov, it added, without elaborating on which topics the talks will focus on. (Israel-Russia-Visit)

MANSOURA, Egypt -- Egyptian universities started to vaccinate employees in the education sector, teaching staffs and students above 18 against COVID-19 pandemic ahead of the new academic year that begins next month.

Amid the campaign, the Egyptian Health Ministry has distributed locally produced Chinese Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to universities nationwide. The vaccines are manufactured by Egypt's state-owned vaccine maker VACSERA as per an agreement signed in April with Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac. BAGHDAD -- Iraq signed on Sunday a deal worth 27 billion U.S. dollars with French oil and gas company Total on four energy projects, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office.

The deal includes three contracts between the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and Total to develop the oil field of Artawi in Iraq's southern province of Basra, while the fourth was signed between the Ministry of Electricity and Total to establish a solar energy project, said the statement. JERUSALEM -- Israel's military said on Sunday that it will impose a series of total closures on the Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip during Jewish holidays in September.

"During the closures, the crossings for goods will be shut down and passing (of people) would be possible only in exceptional humanitarian and medical cases," a military spokesperson said in a statement. (Israel-Palestine-Jewish Holidays) Enditem
