Myanmar reports 2,555 new COVID-19 cases, 94 more deaths

YANGON, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar reported 2,555 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally in the country to 417,971 on Monday, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.

The death toll has increased to 15,985 on Monday after 94 more deaths were newly reported, the release said.

According to the ministry's figures, a total of 365,605 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 3.8 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.

Myanmar detected its first two positive cases of COVID-19 on March 23 last year. Enditem
