LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The 2022 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show, one of the world's biggest music industry trade shows, will take place in U.S. state of California in June next year, the organizers announced Wednesday.

The annual event, previously scheduled in January 2022, will reconvene in Anaheim, Orange County at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 3-5, 2022, said NAMM officials in a statement, noting that the new dates will offer global industry leaders, buyers, sellers, music educators, artists, media, and music makers the opportunity to reconnect and renew their businesses while taking greater advantage of reimagined indoor and outdoor events.

"The industry has not stopped evolving and innovating during the pandemic, and The NAMM Show is evolving, as well," said NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond in the statement.

"As the health and safety of our members remains top of mind, and after carefully listening to companies here in the U.S. and around the world, the new dates will help members maximize their opportunities and accelerate what has arguably been a transformative time both in new products and in how they come to market," Lamond added.

The 2021 in-person edition of the NAMM Show was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rebranded as an online event.

With more than 115,000 registrants from 130 countries and regions, the 2020 NAMM Show, held in January 2020, featured more than 7,000 brands, cutting-edge industry education, as well as exclusive special events, concerts and fan experiences. It's the largest NAMM show in the history of the organization, which was originally formed in 1901.

Chinese companies took a strong foothold at the NAMM show in recent years. Around 220 Chinese companies, roughly the same as the record number in 2019, showcased their latest music, sound and entertainment technology in the 2020 NAMM Show. Enditem
