BAGHDAD -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi said on Saturday that the upcoming legislative elections on Oct. 10 are the only solution to Iraq's problems, urging Iraqis to vote for a better future for the country.

During a meeting with the Iraqi electoral commission to discuss the polls' preparations, al-Kadhimi said "exactly 29 days later, the early parliamentary elections will be held, which represent the only solution to Iraq's problems," according to a statement issued by his media office. DHAKA -- Bangladesh on Saturday received a new batch of China's Sinopharm vaccines against COVID-19 as the country continued to fight the pandemic.

NEW DELHI -- India and Australia on Saturday discussed domestic, regional and global issues, including the evolving situation in Afghanistan and enhancing maritime cooperation at their first 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue held in New Delhi.

ADEN, Yemen -- The Houthi rebel group fired missiles and drones against the Red Sea port of Mocha in the country's southwestern province of Taiz on Saturday, causing huge explosions, a government official told Xinhua.
