GABORONE, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana kicked off their 2021 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League with a 2-0 victory over Diplomate Football Club of the Central African Republic on Saturday afternoon.

Galaxy's new players Lucky Mokwena and Wendell Rudath scored respectively in the first and second half of the game, giving the home side a much-needed victory.

Morena Ramoreboli, the head coach of Jwaneng Galaxy, said at the end of the game that his team was not aggressive enough and was not penetrating enough based on the chances they created.

Despite their victory, Ramoreboli said that they must improve before the next round. "We could have scored more goals, but this was one of those games where we made numerous errors, we will go back to the drawing board to correct and improve," he said.

Coach of Diplomate Football Club, Loungoundji Herve Eric, said that his team did not convert the chances they created, adding that they will be more offensive in the second round.

Galaxy will depart on Tuesday for the second leg match on September 17 in Douala, Cameroon. Enditem
