LONDON, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.16 percent, or 10.99 points, to close at 7,027.48 points.
Ashtead Group, a British industrial equipment rental company, soared 5.26 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and Flutter Entertainment increased by 3.89 percent and 3.84 percent, respectively.
Anglo American, a globally diversified mining business, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.57 percent. Rio Tinto, a mining and metals company, dropped 4.00 percent. Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, fell 3.73 percent. Enditem
