LONDON, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.91 percent, or 63.84 points, to close at 6,963.64 points.
International Consolidated Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, soared 4.94 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Intercontinental Hotels Group and HSBC Holdings increased by 1.97 percent and 1.94 percent, respectively.
