German shares lose 1.03 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 161.58 points, or 1.03 percent, to close at 15,490.17 points.

Deutsche Post lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.15 percent, followed by chemical group BASF and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, which lost 3.07 percent and 2.15 percent respectively.

Automotive supplier Continental, aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical were the top three winners, rising 1.05 percent, 0.69 percent and 0.67 percent respectively.

Housing association Deutsche Wohnen was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 790.51 million euros (931.22 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 1.02 percent to close at 1.546 euros per share. Enditem
