ROME, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Inter Milan bounced back from its Champions League defeat with a comfortable 6-1 home victory over Bologna in Serie A on Saturday, as Edin Dzeko bagged a brace after coming off the bench.

After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the opening round of the Champions League on Wednesday, Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni returned to action, while Joaquin Correa was preferred over Dzeko to partner Lautaro Martinez on the forward line.

It just took the home side six minutes to put their nose ahead, as Denzel Dumfries rolled a cross from the right, Lautaro went in front of his marker to cushion a volley.

The Beneamata was 3-0 up before the interval with Milan Skriniar's header and Nicolo Barella's rebound.

Inter showed no mercy after the break as Matias Vecino added the fourth while Dzeko completed a double in six minutes including a splendid angled drive near the byline.

Bologna just scored the consolation goal with Arthur Theate's diving header in the dying minutes of the normal play.

Inter temporarily leads the table with 10 points from four games played.

Also on Saturday, Fiorentina registered its third consecutive win by defeating Genoa 2-1, while Atalanta won Salernitana 1-0 away. Enditem
