AMMAN, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Monday called for international support for Syrian refugees as the aid for them has declined significantly during the past two years.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh made the remarks at a meeting in the capital Amman with Belgian Minister for Development Cooperation Meryame Kitir.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed means of bolstering cooperation to enhance the two countries' economic relations, according to a statement by the Jordanian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The Jordanian official called for supporting the Jordan Response Plan (JRP) for this year, which seeks to support refugees and host communities.

Kitir expressed her country's readiness to continue supporting Jordan, lauding Jordan's humanitarian role in receiving the Syrian refugees and offering them the basic services. Enditem
