AMMAN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The 35th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts on Wednesday kicked off in the ancient city of Jerash, 45 km north of Jordan's capital Amman.
During the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture Ali Al Ayed said that the return of the Jerash Festival is a return to joy and brilliance after a long absence, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The 11-day festival features a rich program of poetry, singing, dancing, and theatrical performances by Jordanian, Arab and international folklore groups, Ayed added. Enditem
