JERUSALEM -- Israel said on Sunday that its troops killed four armed Hamas operatives in the Israeli-occupied West Bank during an overnight raid.

MANILA -- Jail guards killed four inmates in a shootout on Sunday after they tried to escape from a prison in the southern Philippines' Surigao del Sur province, jail authorities said.

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology said the incident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. local time when at least 11 inmates took hostage a jail staff preparing breakfast at the kitchen. (Philippines-Jailbreak)

LOS ANGELES -- A passenger train with over 100 people on board derailed in the northern U.S. state of Montana on Saturday afternoon, killing at least three people and injuring multiple others, local media reported.

The Amtrak's Empire Builder train travelling between Seattle and Chicago derailed at around 4 p.m. local time (2200 GMT). There were about 147 passengers and 13 crew members on the train at that time, according to a statement by Amtrak. (US-Train accident)

MUMBAI -- India's western state of Maharashtra has decided to reopen cinema halls and drama theaters in the state from Oct. 22.

The reopening of the cinema halls, which are shut since April after the 2nd wave of COVID-19 struck, are subject to compliance of the standard operating procedure to be issued shortly to curb the spread of coronavirus, said Uddhav Thackeray, chief minister of the state on Saturday. HAJJAH, Yemen -- At least six people were killed and more than 20 others injured when crowds celebrating a public holiday in the northwestern Yemeni province of Hajjah Saturday night were hit by a ballistic missile launched by Houthi rebels, said a government official who preferred to remain unnamed.
