BERLIN, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Eintracht Frankfurt took a shock win away at Bayern Munich on Sunday, with Filip Kostic's last-gasp winner stunning the Bundesliga frontrunners and ending their winning streak.

With a 2-1 win, Eintracht took their first victory of the season and jump to 13th in the table, while Bayern remain top despite their first defeat of the season.

The Bavarians created several promising chances, but Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp staged a faultless performance and drove the hosts to desperation.

Julian Nagelsmann's men assumed control from the starting whistle and dominated possession, but goalscoring chances were at premium as Bayern lacked accuracy in the final third.

The hosts eventually capitalized on a misplaced pass from Martin Hinteregger before Robert Lewandowski set up for an unmarked Leon Goretzka, who scored the opener into the bottom corner on 29 minutes.

Moments later, the hosts had a big chance to make it 2-0, but Trapp was on guard to deny Leroy Sane in a one-on-one situation.

Just when Bayern were on the front foot, the Eagles killed the hosts' momentum after Hinteregger atoned for his earlier error by heading home Kostic's corner to restore parity against the run of play in the 32nd minute.

Frankfurt grew into the game and should have turned the tide before the break, but Almamy Toure couldn't beat Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer three minutes before half-time.

Serge Gnabry then had a golden chance to give the hosts the lead again, but with the goal at his mercy, the German international could only hit the woodwork.

After the restart, Bayern Munich gained the upper hand and kept Trapp busy as Lewandowski, Gnabry and Sane unleashed a few dangerous shots on target.

Frankfurt remained a menace on fast breaks and scored the winner from one such chance, as Djibril Sow's build-up work found Kostic, who finished well from a tight angle in the 83rd minute.

"A defeat always hurts but an avoidable defeat hurts even more. We created many opportunities, but we got punished for mistakes we have been making for some time now," said Bayern head coach Nagelsmann.

Said Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner, "A great compliment to my team. We had a good plan, played defensively and knew we could create chances on counterattacks. The team did a great job. I am absolutely satisfied with the performance."

Elsewhere, a brace from Taiwo Awoniyi helped Union Berlin to bounce back and take a 2-1 win away at Mainz, while Bayer Leverkusen moved up to second in the table after an emphatic 4-0 victory over bottom side Arminia Bielefeld. Enditem
