TEHRAN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Saudi Arabia are continuing their talks in the "best condition," Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday.

Several rounds of talks between Tehran and Riyadh have taken place in Iraqi capital of Baghdad and "we try to achieve a lasting relationship within the framework of mutual consent," Khatibzadeh said during his weekly press conference.

Talks are currently underway in Baghdad, and various cases have been discussed, he said, adding that the main focus is on bilateral relations, but regional issues have also been discussed.

The Iranian spokesman did not confirm reopening of the Saudi embassy in Iran.

Iranian officials have said that ties between Tehran and Riyadh will be in the interest of the entire region, and any problem and misunderstanding among regional states can be solved through dialogue. Enditem
