German shares gain 1.05 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 157.94 points, or 1.05 percent, to close at 15,194.49 points.

Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.84 percent. Publicly traded meal-kit company HelloFresh and Deutsche Bank gained by 3.64 percent and 3.58 percent respectively.

Material manufacturer Covestro, multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and European health care company Fresenius SE were the top three losers among the blue chips, by falling 1.00 percent, 0.95 percent and 0.82 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 276.10 million euros (320.33 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 2.51 percent to close at 1.472 euros per share on Tuesday. Enditem
