Pakistan confirms 1,004 new COVID-19 cases, 28 more deaths

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Sunday confirmed 1,004 new COVID-19 cases and 28 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Monday.

The NCOC, a department leading campaign against the pandemic, said that the country has conducted 19,911,021 tests so far and confirmed overall 1,258,959 cases, including 1,188,562 recoveries.

The number of active cases has dropped to 42,263 who are under treatment across the country, while 2,473 are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 28 people on Sunday, increasing the overall death toll to 28,134.

Pakistan's southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 462,859 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 436,197 infections. Enditem
