LONDON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.72 percent, or 51.30 points, to close at 7,146.85 points.
Anglo American, a globally diversified mining business, soared 5.20 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Hargreaves Lansdown and Antofagasta increased by 4.28 percent and 4.18 percent, respectively.
Ocado Group, an online grocer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.63 percent. Intermediate Capital Group, a British-based global alternative asset management company, dropped 2.49 percent.
