SEOUL -- South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum said Wednesday that the government will prepare for a gradual return to normalcy from the COVID-19 pandemic amid a higher vaccination rate.

BANGKOK -- Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) has approved measures to encourage companies to speed up their digital technology and automation adoptions to promote Industry 4.0 transformation.

The newly-approved measures will give eligible companies a three-year corporate income tax exemption covering all their investment for the Industry 4.0 upgrades, the Southeast Asian country's initiative to boost the competitiveness of its manufacturing industry. (Thailand-Economy-Industry 4.0)

WELLINGTON -- The New Zealand government is asking for the public's opinion on the country's first Emissions Reduction Plan with the release of a consultation document containing a range of policy ideas to decrease the country's emissions.

The Emissions Reduction Plan will set the direction for climate action through to 2035. It will set out action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across a range of areas, including energy, transport, waste, agriculture, construction and financial services, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said in a statement on Wednesday. MANILA -- The death toll from the severe tropical storm Kompasu has risen to 13 and that nine people are missing, the Philippine government said Wednesday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that most victims died from landslides and flooding in the northern Philippine regions and Palawan, an archipelagic province located off Luzon island. (Philippines-Tropical Storm-Kompasu) Enditem
