SUVA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said Thursday he has put out a directive that unvaccinated travellers entering into Fiji be put into quarantine and get vaccinated.

Bainimarama, when speaking to frontliners in the Western Division, said they had found out an Asian national who travelled to Fiji unvaccinated two weeks ago, tested positive for COVID-19 while in his quarantine.

He added that protocols and policies should be made with regards to people who enter into the country unvaccinated, as they may put local people at risk.

On Sunday, Bainimarama announced that Fiji will adopt a no-jab, no-fly policy, travellers aged 18 years and above must be fully vaccinated. Enditem
